Student Dress Code

  • No Cell Phones/Bluetooth enabled devices, smartwatches, Air-Pods or other electronics – Wired headphones/earbuds are permitted 

  • Jewelry is limited to ONLY studs. Piercings that set off the metal detector will need to be removed before students come to school. 

  • No bandanas, ski masks, combs/picks/hairbrushes are allowed.  

  • Students must wear appropriate fitting, uniform-style khaki-colored pants. All pockets must be able to be turned inside out for search. No elastic waists or pant legs. Sagging (pants below hips) is not permitted. At no time should students’ underwear be visible. No shorts/pants under GIVE pants. 

  • Students must wear appropriate GIVE East Squad T-shirts. The shirt may be either long or short sleeved. If a GIVE Center East T-shirt is not worn, a solid colored (designated by grade level) shirt with a collar must be worn. 

  • Solid black, gray, or white jackets only. Lining must be Neutral color (black, white, gray, and tan). Sweater hoodies without zippers are not allowed. 

  • Footwear must be solid black. Flip flops, sandals, house shoes or slippers are not permitted. Socks must be school appropriate 

  • Headbands/hair ties must be solid black/white and may be no wider than 1 inch. They must be worn in the hair. No other hair accessories are allowed. 

  • Solid black/white knit hats may be worn outside only. 

  • Keys must be on a single ring and kept in pocket. 

  • Solid black/white binders only (No pictures/no pockets/no drawings). 

  • Only small clear purses allowed 

  • Students may NOT have more than $25 dollars in their possession. 

  • Students can only use wooden pencils. 

  • Only sealed bottled water (at search) is permitted. 

  • No extra clothing for after-school activities (unless written permission provided by GIVE Center East). 

  • No backpacks, bookbags, or lunch containers (sandwich bags are accepted). 

  • No candy or gum allowed.  

  • ONE lip product, no makeup items, no eyelash/nail glue, no hair gel or spray.

DRESS CODE APPLIES AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON CAMPUS. ALL STUDENTS MUST ADHERE TO THE GWINNETT COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT.
